Chief: Pavo, I didn’t see you at the gathering today.

Pavo: Oh? My apologies, sir. I must have been lost in my studies at the time. Was there anything of significance discussed?

Chief: Not to discuss per say. It was a declaration. Your coworker; the herbalist. She is taking her leave along with three other members.

Pavo: I beg your pardon?! This is most unnatural! Nevertheless, I can assure I’m not participating in such an event.

Chief: I am assigning you to the expedition.

Pavo: I beg your- WHAT?! S-sir I do not believe this is necessary. Besides, I have more pressing matters to deal with.

Chief: Rereading the same dated documents for the umpteenth time cannot be considered as a pressing matter, son.

Pavo: [grumbles to himself] If only you knew that reading medical records contributes to ninety per cent of my daily serotonin. 

Chief: Think of it as your final assessment as my apprentice. You have the knowledge, but you lack the experience. Experience is not something you can learn from books unfortunately. You need to get out of your comfort zone if you wish to continue your line of work. Please understand, Pavo. Remember why you are doing this and… who you are doing this for.

Pavo: (…) I won’t disappoint you.
