My very first attempt at customizing a fashion doll that is not Asian. This is a Lottie doll, and she comes from Ireland originally, but it is sold in many other English speaking countries out there. Lottie is a more wholesome, and innocent doll alternative to Barbie and Bratz. And to be honest, Lottie is a Barbie alternative done right, unlike another anti-Barbie doll out there (cough)Lammily(cough).

Her face was too pretty to repaint, so I left it as is. I rerooted her hair with Kool Black Kanekalon doll hair I got off Dollyhair many years back. It is rather different from the usual synthetic fibers, like Nylon and Saran. It acts more like human hair and feels as soft as the fur of a Japanese Chin dog. But you have to be very careful with Kanekalon, since it is almost as fragile as human hair.

I even sewn her outfit and put it together myself. I am happy at how the outfit turned out, plus, doll kimonos are a lot of fun to create. I even sewn some footwear for her as well. It's not perfect, but it took five tries to get it somewhat right.

I named this Lottie doll Ayumi, after a late, great friend of mine. I think it a cute way to honor her.
