Repost from February 2013. Was made as part of a college project to make a mock advert for the college's self-published journal for both student-made art and writing. The original features additional text, but that's been removed for privacy reasons.
My professor was quick to note how fantasy and sci-fi are the topmost of the "blob" of "imagination" that's oozing out, as well as other topics the journal wasn't known for and teasingly asked if I was trying to say the journal needed to feature them more. Which was good, because that was exactly my intention with that--for writing, the journal tended to favor non-fiction and essays, which is fine, but I'm of the opinion that was heavily limiting the journal's full potential of what it could do, as well as students who could contribute to it.
But last I saw of it, it was still focusing on just the non-fiction and essays. At least it publishes some lovely artwork.
