Just a little wrap-up of the six wyvern characters I just shared.

The shifter dragons are inherently hostile to outsiders. Multiple factors make dragons and their body parts desirable to a lot of people, and millennia of hostility from the rest of the world has made the dragon community a pretty insular place. No one comes in, and if you leave, there's no coming back. Hierarchies are strict and unconditional respect towards individuals on the higher ladder is expected.

The harsh nature of their societal structure has caused a lot of internal division as well. Xenophobia and barriers to communication have resulted in different types of dragons to live in relative isolation from one another. Only recently has survival demanded cooperation between the long-separated groups, which led to this wyvern family living side to side with a larger community.

It hasn't gone all smoothly however, and ultimately they don't interact with one another much. The wyverns have their own corner on the territory, which they rule over with relative hostility towards even the group that allowed them to be there in the first place. It's thanks to the leader Xhatiorus and his skillful diplomacy that this arrangement has worked at all and continues to benefit both sides.

Which makes it really funny to me that now that my lad Cris has forced himself into the mix, it's the wyverns that tend to interact with him the most. 😅
