this ain’t made to single anyone out or put the community down as a whole… genuinely! but does it seem to anyone else that people are afraid to like stuff here? as in physically hit the like button… it makes me super sad scrolling thru the new post feed and seeing art with ~20 views and zero likes … :( i know any site with a view count is always gonna be higher, often disproportionately so compared to the amount of likes but it just seems a little excessive sometimes
i find it so fun to just sit and scroll and take in what people are sharing. idk!! it’s been a while since i’ve been in a community like this and i think it’d kill me personally to go out of my way to NOT interact with people?
again i ain’t tryina be overly negative, this site has plenty to offer regardless. just kinda sucks and i wish i knew what made this an issue? i can’t be the only one that’s noticed this..
idk if anyones done something like this before, i just thought it’d be fun! feel free to do your own ^_^ (posting a blank to make it easy to copy and paste)
no rules, just have fun! you can add new questions too if you’d like
Who is your main persona? (Could be any kind of sona, like a fursona or a ponysona.)
Which sona most accurately represents you? This could be physically, personality wise, whatever you think fits best.
Which sona do you use most frequently? Why?
Sona(s) you feel you neglect? (Don’t draw enough, doesn’t have lore, etc)
What did your first sona look like? Describe them or show a picture.
How does your first sona contrast with your current one(s)?
What were the inspirations for your sonas’ names, be it past or present?
Do you have a sona related to a fandom? Show or describe them!
Do your sonas have a common theme amongst them? A similar personality, or maybe a shared aesthetic?
Which sona have you had the longest? What about them made them stick around for so long?
Which of your sonas is the least like you? In what way?
digital art OR traditional art?
i do mostly digital art, so i guess that. but i’ve been really meaning to get back into some kind of traditional medium again. i think pen sketches are really great for fast improvement
original concepts/characters OR fanart/canon characters?
i have a huge bias for original concepts ;; any fandom ocs that i make don’t tend to stay linked to their source material for very long.
i find it kind of hard to get involved with fandom spaces recently unless they’re media that i have a special attachment towards, and it’s rare for me to go out of my way to make fanart for media
original fiction OR fanfiction?
maybe original fiction? i don’t really read fanfic ^^;
sketch OR lineart?
well i don’t do lineart so i guess sketch haha
coloring OR shading?
coloring is the bane of my existence. shading
handwritten signature OR text signature?
text signature cuz then i can just copypaste that shit on every canvas. i get too picky with my own handwriting as it is
shrink canvas OR add a filter before posting?
is this in reference to like deterring art theft? neither…? 😭 oftentimes i even forget to watermark my stuff. if i’m gonna do either of these sometimes i’ll add a filter just for the effect
messy art OR clean art?
depends on what i’m in the mood for, what kind of vibe i’m after when i’m drawing. i guess clean? i tend to nitpick myself. id like to be able to get messier though
bright colors OR muted colors?
i have a preference for bright colors, clearly. i wanna get more comfortable using muted colors though.
warm colors OR cold colors?
warm by a landslide
graphics tablet with screen OR no screen?
well i’ve been drawing directly on the screen for 10 years, i think it’d be inhumane to force myself to switch now 😭
humans OR non-humans?
i have a heavy preference for my human ocs, which you wouldn’t guess by looking at this account. i love my animal critters but they’re just for funsies
fur OR scales?
fur, im better at drawing it
edgy characters OR wholesome characters?
why not both at the same time?
high-poly models OR low-poly models?
depends on the style you’re going for i guess. idk. they’re both charming for different reasons im not sure i could pick
music OR podcasts while drawing?
music mostly. sometimes i have to switch it up and listen to a youtube video or something to keep myself from getting distracted but music inspires me the most
RULES: Answer each question in as much detail as you like. Skip anything you don't know or would prefer not to answer.
How many usernames have you had? (You don't have to share them!)
oh god, i don’t even know. maybe 8, in terms of like main art accounts? that’s all i can come up with at the moment
What does your current username mean?
vulpine (like foxes) + pineapple (my name)
i actually wanted the username “lupineapple” cuz i thought it sounded cooler but it was taken on instagram (where i’ve posted the most over the past ~10 years)
What is the first program you used to make digital art?
drawcast. shoutout if you know her
Where did you first start posting your art?
drawcast 😭
What is the first piece of media you drew fanart for?
probably pokémon but i’ve been drawing for so long i can’t say for sure
Who was your first self-insert/persona/fursona? What did they mean to you?
i had a wolf fursona when i was like 10 because i was obsessed with alpha and omega. she had a really stupid name that i won’t even mention here because it’s embarrassing 💀 it was just gibberish
Who is your current self-insert/persona/fursona? How are they different to your first?
i have a few!
itka is my main persona. he’s literally just me, with some demon characteristics thrown in. nothing crazy
midnight is my ponysona. she is definitely a horse
theo is my pokesona/fursona… kind of? i have a really hard time connecting with fursonas it seems, they never really stick. but i still use him and he hasn’t been sold off so i guess that counts for something
What phases/styles has your art gone through? (e.g. Did you have an anime era, a cartoon style, a watercolour phase?)
i had a creepypasta phase when i was like 12 and that shit stuck with me the way i held on for dear life to rlly bad oc and art tropes
What/who do you think has influenced your art style the most?
i wouldn’t say any one person or thing has? i’m inspired by a lot of things. my friends, the people i follow. i’m a huge fan of studio ghibli and rankin bass. i really don’t like anime but 80s-early 2000s sorta styles really strike my fancy
What/who inspired you to be an artist?
i’m not sure. everyone always said i was good at it so i guess i just took that and ran
What tools are integral to your current workflow? (e.g. Programs, brushes, references.)
i use procreate to draw mostly but magma/aggie is sooo useful in getting me out of a block. something abt drawing on it is so satisfying
What improvements have you made recently?
a lot, i think. i think my general anatomy and understanding of 3d shapes has gotten better. the way i’ve drawn hair has improved MASSIVELY over the past couple years.
What steps would you like to take in the future?
id like my art to look more … interesting? im pretty happy with my growth as an artist but i’ve been so uninspired lately i think it comes across in how i draw. it’s hard for me to be able to finish things anymore, so i usually call it done about after i’ve finished the colors, if i can even make it to that point. know how much potential i have and id like to not be like this
