“Pass along, we have the situation under control.” – Twilight Knight

In my headcanons, the Twili have their own army, even though it hasn’t been used for “war” in centuries. The current army is mainly fighting against Interlopers who revolted against the authority of the royal family, keeping the floating islands safe for their ruler and people. They are a last resort solution when guards and other protectors fail.

The Twilight Knights are considered as extremely loyal and even rebelled during Zant’s reign since they didn’t recognize him as legitimate ruler. As punishment, a lot of them were transformed in Shadow Beasts (sharing the same symbol on their chest as their mask in their cursed form).

The army is currently reunited as some sort of Knight Order and is focused on its mission and training. The selection is very strict and not so many succeed in convincing their elders that they are worthy of this rank. Because of this, being a Twilight Knight is “de facto” considered as being from a high rank in society. Unlike most of the other Twili, the soldiers don’t rely on their own magic but on physical attacks (usually with spear and/or sword) and on their trustworthy armor (which keeps them safe from most magical attacks). This is due to their constant fight against Interlopers who mainly rely on magic and other techniques of the kind. However, mages and other magic users also are recruited in the army.
