As the title says, this is a rant, so expect negativity.
So I really liked Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a kid and after seeing the new movie, I've been peeking into the fandom, and I mean the fandom for pretty much all animated versions. Anyways, after trying to talk about TMNT with people for a while, I'm already getting real sick of the fandom. To be blunt, I'm sure some of you prefer one version and think I'm pointing fingers to fans of whichever version you don't like, but honestly, it's 90% of the fans of all versions that I can't stand. I mean toxic fans of every version, from the Rise fans who took April saying 'the turtles are like brothers to me' and made it into 'shipping April with a ninja turtle is Alabama behavior' all the way to fans of basically every pre-2014 TMNT series and constantly having to complain about new versions doing new things, especially Mutant Mayhem. Don't get me wrong, you're allowed to hate it (I cringe at half the dialogue), but when you say 'the movie is awful but I weirdly enjoyed it,' it just comes across like you can't admit to liking something without trying to make yourself sound like you're so cultured and smarter than everyone for liking the Old Thing. You don't sound smart, you sound self-righteous. Get off your high horse. So yeah, I already question if I even want to get into the fandom, or if I even like TMNT enough to contribute to the fandom.
