I wanted to try out the drawing pad once again. And i had the great idea to do it by attempting to paint a mountain!

For context, I usually find it really hard to draw these fractal-like complex forms, because they have an element of randomness I just can't get the hang or. This includes trees, folliage, hair, and mountains too!

I just ended up making the most basic shape, and even that I don't find to be 100 % correct. At least I did apply some improvements suggested by some mutuals I was streaming to.

About the painting process, I made almost the entire painting using a brush available in Krita by default (Basic-5 Size Opacity). I'm starting to develop a workflow for it, but it's still not too intuitive for me yet.

Colouring in this medium is so different from pixel art. Anti-aliasing has a really great impact! Especially when using the bucket or the magic wand. I also don't quite feel comfortable with opacity depending on the amount of pressure i put on the pad. Not being able to change the palette in the future as i would in pixel art is also daunting. (Though there is a way to post-process paintings, I just haven't learnt to do it yet).

The strokes I made were kinda simple and probably not realistically accurate. But I guess they're good enough. I should choose a theme i'll feel more comfortable with in order to focus on these details.

I blended the sky, as well as the barely noticeable fog, the result was cleaner. Blending didn't work well when applied to the mountain itself.
