This was an assignment from college in 2019 <3
The technique used for this project is a process called "monotyping." In this case you draw an image onto one side of a glass plate. Then, you cover the opposite side with one color of printing ink. We used only 3 colors one at a time: Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
In order to create the colors on the final image, you have to remove a certain amount of ink from the plate each time. For example, the "white" spaces are areas where I removed the cyan, magenta, and yellow ink from all 3 rounds so there was no pigment to print onto the final paper. The black background was achieved by leaving a full layer of ink on each round.
I really enjoyed this assignment! It was an excellent practice in color theory and forethought.
