Hello gamers, and welcome to Sheezy!

On Friday we opened the flood gates to 250 new users, pushing our total user base over 2000! Sending a warm welcome to each and every one of you, we hope you enjoy your time here!

Because of this population boom of our little Sheezy empire, I wanted to put together a post to give you guys a run down of some of our features, and answer a few questions we’ve seen floating around a lot that aren’t in our FAQ.

What’s cool about Sheezy?

Awards!

Here at Sheezy, we’re all about celebrating the amazing and unique art you all create, and thus we have awards to give out! These are given by staff and subscribers, and look pretty when displayed on your profile - some even have a cool little 3D effect when you mouse over them!
An awards page is currently in development, where you will be able to see the recent awards given out, and any messages attached to them!

Spotlight!

As you may have noticed, in the top corners of the website we have two artworks featured, that get rotated out every so often. This is the Spotlight - just like regular awards, it is given out manually by the staff, but it puts your work in a queue to be featured across the website, and on our Discord banner! You can, however, turn this feature off in your account preferences if you’re not a fan :)

Challenges!

Our resident Dax likes to host an art challenge every month! A prompt will be given, you create an artwork, submit it under the relevant tag, and you might be the next winner! All participants get a special award based on the current theme, but only the winner gets the Challenge Winner award. The top 3 artworks all receive a 3 month subscription!

Judging is done by the staff team - it is not based on popularity, or skill, or style - every artist of every level has an equal chance! At the end of the month, all submissions are featured in a Sheezy Stream, and the winner is announced live.

Livestreams!

Once a week, we will have a Sheezy Stream! This will usually consist of Ry talking about site updates and getting emotional over how great everyone is - occasionally other staff will join in, sometimes we’ll browse the website and gush over art, other times we might have a game night! Sheezy Streams are every Friday at 7pm GMT - we will be live both on the Discord and on Twitch, so come and say hi!

Discord!

We have a community Discord server! It’s been a great place to hang out and make new friends, and it’s the quickest way to get help from the staff!

There are also a few easter eggs hidden around the site - see what you can find!

FAQ 2: Electric Boogaloo

When will you be opening up more registrations?

We are currently opening 10 new registration slots every 8 hours!

Also, during The Sheezy Stream on Fridays, we'll be doing 10 subscription giveaways! The signup sheet can be found here - You don’t need to have an account already, the subscription grants you access to the site!

Can I gift a subscription to someone else?

Yes! Simply subscribe like you normally would, then head to your Account Settings page and open My Subscription – you'll see a button next to your active subscriptions with the option to send it to someone as a Gift!

I found a bug!

Great! Check our GitHub to see if it’s been reported before. If it has, you can add a comment to the bug report with any extra information. If it hasn’t, please open a new report and provide all the information requested in the template.

I have an idea for a new feature!

Also great! We are not currently taking feature requests - Ry already has a long list of things they want to add, and for the sake of their sanity we will not encourage more features right now. You’re free to discuss ideas in the Discord, just don’t go requesting an audience with the admins about it!

I need help with HTML!

Unfortunately, this is not our area of expertise. Feel free to ask the community for help through a journal, or we have a dedicated channel for it in our Discord!

How can I help?

We appreciate your interest! Reporting incorrectly tagged artworks and posting bugs on the GitHub goes a long way, but if you want to do more, you can send in a Staff Application! All we ask is that you are 18 or over.

As a final note, we believe in the community having a say in how the site is run. We see your concerns with some of our rules and moderations, and would like to remind you all that while we are always open to improving and making things more accessible, this is also a learning process for all of us. Old staff are having to relearn and update protocols, and new staff are still in the process of training - the site itself is still in Beta too, so things are constantly updating and changing, and we appreciate your patience while we still work on perfecting things.

If you feel your artwork has been unfairly moderated, we encourage you to dispute our changes - there is no penalty for this, or for receiving modmail. Art is subjective, and we moderate every single piece by hand, so sometimes we make mistakes!

Overall though, the whole staff team want to extend a huge thank you to this whole community - you guys are so talented and have been so patient with us through this whole process!
