Repost from January 2019. The month before, I had learned from a family member that both male and female reindeer grow horns...but not necessarily at the same time as each other, with the females being the ones typically with horns during the winter months, not the males.

And so, since Santa's reindeer are almost always portrayed with their horns...you can probably guess where I'm going with this.

I've since learned from someone who knows way more about reindeer than I do that there ARE still exceptions to this (depending on region, subspecies, and the methods they are trained/cared for), but it nonetheless put the idea in my head and I thought it interesting, the idea that Santa's reindeer could be all-female.

So I made some character designs for such "lady reindeer" as shown above (as well as character synopses for each, but the character limit here means you'll have to read those on the DA version if interested), and it subsequently became my tradition to revisit the characters (nearly) every Christmas season since, so you've not seen the last of them either.
