I’d been wanting to try out more traditional mediums in general ever since mid last year, and I’d say for the past few months I’ve more or less started to do that more? By that I mean I finally finished my last sketchbook that I’ve had since 2024, which was a nice feeling to have. I have a new sketch book now which is significantly smaller but I prefer it honestly. In my old sketchbook I’d end up with a lot of empty space in-between sketches and doodles. It’s much easier now to fill pages with doodles and other things I decide to scrapbook with.
That yap aside though I wanted to share the very few pages in both my current and previous sketch book that I rly enjoyed working on/liked the look of. I’ve been trying to re learn how to have fun with art and to also try and disarm this feeling of needing things to be perfect each time, not every drawing on these pages is good, but I don’t think it matters so long as I’ve tried to draw something.
I considered just posting them as a regular art post but I preferred to just make a journal as most of what I post here is digital. (Maybe I’ll post some more traditional stuff when I begin to get more comfortable with it though. ^^)

The cut out drawings in the top left corner of this page were made by my very lovely friend Leafixart! (She does have an account here but he’s still getting used to things) The top drawings is supposed to be 2D from the band gorillaz and the one underneath is a human version of my oc salty designed by her. ^^ I used acrylic brush markers to paint Harper in this piece. I’m still trying to learn acrylic markers but I think they’re really fun to use, and this is my favourite piece I’ve made with them so far. ^^

Another acrylic brush marker drawing of my oc Sunbrust. I think this was the second time I tried to experiment with them. Also from my previous sketch book.

And this is my favourite page spread piece I’ve done in my new sketch book!! These were really fun to do. I used really cheap and amateur mediums such as crayola crayons and multi coloured pens for these, mainly to try and re connect with my inner child a bit more. (As cringe as that may sound lol)

And lastly I just wanted to show off the front cover I did for my current sketch book as looking at it brings me so much joy. The rainbow dash and apple jack stickers were made by Deathbycatboy on Instagram! I got to buy these from him in person at an arts and crafts event. They’re super pretty and his art style is so fun and cute! ^^ The critter and Laika stickers were made by the very lovely fourleafisland (some of you here may already know them.) And the fluttershy sticker on the far left was a freebie I got from a shop order from Larvaecandy. ^^ The Vaporeon plush sticker is one I made using sellotape and parchment paper! :D
It actually snowed and it settled yesterday! It was so beautiful omg, it happened whilst I was browsing Sheezy in the early morning yesterday, my mum came into my room to inform me that it was snowing! I can’t remember the last time we ever had snow this thick so I had to take some pictures. I mostly took pictures with my pokemon/lps figures and plush keychains, because as a kid I used to take pictures with them outside and I thought it’d be like a way to make my child self happy. ^^
Here’s just a few of the pictures that I took that I liked all in one image, as not to fill this entire journal post with image links and cause a lot of lag ‘^^
(Also srry if some of my figures look a lil grubby they’ve kind of just been sitting in a box in my room for a while lol)
Another year has passed us now and so soon it feels… Or maybe I’m just getting older and times getting faster now that I have a better awareness of it, idk lol.
I’ve definitely had my ups and downs this year and while I did have some pretty upsetting moments I feel I’ve also had so many lovely things happen to me as well! Getting to make new friends on my current art course has been really awesome and I love spending time with them and getting to talk about the things we’re passionate about. Plus I got to make even more connections with some lovely and inspiring artists on here too! I’m really genuinely grateful for all of the support my art received this year too, you’ve all really motivated me to keep on going with my art even when I wasn’t feeling good about my work. ^^
All that yap aside though, here’s this year’s art in review! :3 The template I’ve used here was created by RezDragon! And here’s the blank version too if you’d like to use it! (Please make sure to credit him though!)
Overall I’d say I’m pretty happy with the progress that my art has made this year, although I do wish I had dedicated myself to studying more frequently.
I feel the things I improved the most on were actually my colours. I distinctly remember looking at my art from around a year ago now and feeling that the colours just weren’t looking right, or that they looked kind of ugly and desaturated. So I strived to try and change that fact in late 2024. I feel this has definitely paid off this year as when I compare my art from November/December of this year to my last years art, or even pieces from earlier this year, I feel that the colours just feel so much more bright and vibrant! I also feel that my ability to build pleasing colour palettes and sense of what colours I feel are working/aren’t working has improved significantly too.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t really like some of the decisions I used to make in my pieces from earlier this year? Like the super thin lineart looks okay in certain pieces but in others it just feels like it doesn’t exaggerate the cartoony nature of my style as well. I experimented with a slightly different line thickness in my art later on in the year and discovered that I really enjoyed that look a lot more.
As for improvements, I’d say the things I want to work on the most are honestly are just my basic fundamentals, such as anatomy, volume, perspective and proportions. I feel I struggle with all of them significantly. I’d really like my art to feel more three dimensional too as it’s still pretty flat (and I’ll admit sometimes I just get lazy and don’t think about over lapping forms/drawing through them).
I also really want to try and learn digital painting/do more traditional art. I did do a digital painting back in April of this year but I haven’t done much since then. I feel like I need to be more looser with my artwork too in some respects if I want to try out digital painting. Every time I’ve tried to be more loose with my art I still end up polishing things too much. I think I’m just used to the way that I typically do things in my art that trying to steer away from it is trickier lol.
I also picked up sketch booking again sometime in August but dropped it around late October due to feeling burnt out. I’d love to pick it up again since I got some new art supplies for Christmas this year, and I really love to decorate my pages with stickers and washi tape! :3
I’d say my favourite piece from this year has to be my fanart of the character Sha from The Walten Files. I’m just so happy with how the colours turned out and I love how she looks too! I’m so happy that I drew fanart of a character that I love that I feel does them justice as it’s something I genuinely struggle with tbh.
Anyways though that’s all for now, I wish everyone reading this a happy new year and a good 2026!! ^w^/🌈💕💫🐾🍰
Just saw the little cake icon next to my username (super cute!) which officially marks the day that I made my account on Sheezy! I knew it was coming up as I remember the day that I joined Sheezy very vividly for some odd reason. I remember hearing about the site from one of Fourleafisland’s livestreams and became immediately curious when I heard that it was like old DA and had profile customisation! I’m genuinely so glad that they brought it up because the community I’ve found here has been so absolutely wonderful and full of creativity.
Genuinely I adore it here, I love being able to consume a wide variety of art not just in terms of style but also in terms of mediums, skill sets and niches! This is the kind of experience I can’t really get with mainstream social media anyway. I obviously love the freedom of expression through profile customisation too, I just love visiting artists pages to see how they express themselves through their layout, colours and html! ^^ I also just love how friendly and welcoming the community has been too, and just the overall laid back and casual vibe of it all. I feel the most comfortable posting to this site than any other, and I hope that people can feel the same way too even if it’s still rather small.
Somehow I still remember the trending artworks that were circulating when I first entered the website too. I remember seeing this drawing of popplio by my beloved oomf chaosfetti and just fell in love with her bright and cartoony style immediately. I loved this piece by MAEPOP because of her wonderfully cute art style and how the piece has comic elements to it! I was so enamoured by the rendering of this piece by sunpurr, I actually thought it was a real deer porcelain sculpture when I first saw it!! And lastly I just adored the colours and outfit of the character from this piece by ducclord! I bring all these pieces up as I’ve found them all really inspiring and they were what convinced to create an account here and start sharing works of my own! :D
And before I sign off I want to shout out some of my lovely mutuals and people who’ve supported me whilst sharing my work on this platform. A big one goes to Maractean for being one of the first people to leave super kind and supportive comments on my earlier works. They’ve genuinely inspired me to want to actively improve on my art so that I can make even better artworks and they’re a super talented artist themself too! I know I’ve already mentioned her earlier but I gotta shout out Chaosfetti as her artworks are genuinely so, so so inspiring to me and shes super talented and kind too! Sparklzia for her continued support and absolutely jaw dropping detailed and colourful artworks. (I’m still not over that gift piece of Minty that she made for me, I LOVE IT SO MUCH RAAHH😭). And lastly Portusjacksoni for always being super friendly and silly/pos, as well as for having such a unique colouring style and strong shape language!
I wish I could mention even more wonderful people but this journal would be wayyy to long and full of more links than there already are, but genuinely, to anyone and everyone who’s ever supported me either through comments or through keeping up with my posts I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to engage with my art! It really does mean so much as this was the first time in a long time that I’d ever started sharing art outside of my smaller friend groups. And to know that my art had even the smallest impact on someone means the world to me.
And lastly thank you to the creators of this website for creating one of the few spaces online that actually caters to creatives! I love this site and I’m excited for the rebuild! :D
Been a while since I last talked about my kandi bracelets, and I’ve sure been busy since then too lmao
I got a bunch of beads in various colours and shades and some more charms at least a month ago now I believe? And to say I’ve gotten my mileage out of them is, uh, correct,, lol
Real quick, here are some ones I’ve made very recently!
(Also I’m using a new image hosting website, please let me know if the images are visible or not, they are to me but idk if they’re block in certain regions.)
I made an mlp fim themed kandi for the 15th year anniversary of the show! I’ve been very burnt out lately to do any artwork, so I thought this would be a nice fun thing to do for a show that has done so much for me during my life.
My dead pixel kandi is a reference to that one scene in Mouthwashing where Anya talks to Curly about the tiny dead pixel on the nighttime screen in the lounge. I love that scene to bits and Anya as a character too, so I’m very attached to this kandi in particular. This one was also made to celebrate the games one year anniversary too! :D
That all aside, here is my collection of more bright/pastel themed kandi that I’ve made :3
I won’t yap about every single one of my kandi bracelets this time as there will be more later in this post so I’ll talk about the ones I like the most.
One my favourites out of this batch are my 12D3 kandi. I’ve had an idea for a kandi based on 2D from the band gorillaz for a while since he’s one of my favourite fictional characters in media. Originally my idea for the kandi was more of a neon red blue and yellow theme, sort of more psychedelic than what I eventually ended up going for. And frankly I’m glad that I went with this more pastel approach because I adore this kandi so much. >w< Obviously taking inspiration from my 2D keychain I bought when I turned 18. Currently this kandi is attached to my iPhone as a cute little charm along with my 2D keychain. :3
I’d say my second favourite is my Sha kandi which is based on Sha’s design from the Walten files! I’ve gotten really hyperfixsated on that analog horror series again just by chance and I’ve been having a blast with it. Sha’s my favourite out of the animatronics and I happened to have one more sheep charm left over from my sheep kandi so I had to take this opportunity.
Little story about the pastel kandi with the heart charms, it was actually made as a gift for a classmate who complimented my kandi cuffs during my first week on my new course and so I wanted to make them one as a thank you. (We’re both friends now btw! :D) I remade the kandi as I still really liked the design so now we have matching kandis! :33
And lastly these are my collection of my more edgier kandi! Most of these are based off of album covers and the music that I like as well as some miscellaneous characters from media that I like. :3
Think some of my favourites are my Pumpkin rabbit kandi and my sheep witch kandi, which are also Walten files characters (or spin off characters technically but whateverr). I also really love my two gorillaz album cover themed bracelets as they were some of the most fun ones to design.
My Ugly Art and Ministry Of Shit kandi are both based off of album covers, specifically The Ugly Art by Machine girl and Ministry Of Shit by Goreshit.
My Femtanyl kandi is pretty self explanatory (love her music obviously) my Polyurethane kandi is based off of Polyurethane’s design from the new season of Panty And Stocking. He was just my favourite out of the two new gen angel twins. ^^
Oof, that was a lot of yap, sorry lol. I hope it was somewhat interesting to read regardless, let me know if you have any favourite designs or if you like to make kandi yourself! :D I think it’s such a fun hobby to have because you can make a kandi for literally anything, it’s like having your own specialised merch for the things that you like. It’s also good for making friends too and showing appreciation for the people in your lives by creating a gift that’s been tailored for them. ^w^
