Hi. I'm DangerMouseFan1981. I'm not really much of an artist but I do appreciate art and the hard-working people who make them. ^^

(Please note that this is just an opinion.)
I sometimes wonder how different things would be if SpongeBob ended after Season 3, DNA Productions never shut down, and Jimmy Neutron became the official mascot for Nickelodeon.
I'm sorry but there's something about Post Season 3 SpongeBob that rubs me the wrong why. Maybe it's over-the-top expressions, the declining quality of the writing, some of the characters being shells of their former selves, or any combination of the three. Also, I don't think C.H. Greenblatt's artstyle fits SpongeBob. I usually associate his artstyle with shows like "Chowder".
( ^^; Sorry for going off topic. I just wanted to rant about current SpongeBob for a little bit. )
Anyway, if Jimmy Neutron stuck around for a few more years, there would be a drastic improvement in the quality of the animation and writing, and there would be more video games. Not only that but Jimmy would probably be a guest character in "Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds".
Of course, in order for any of those things to happen, then "The Ant Bully" shouldn't exist at all because that film didn't make enough money at the box office, resulting in DNA Productions shutting down.
(Other factors to the closure of DNA Productions are the three-week deadline for each JN episode, its power going out at least once a week, and not having the "time ot money to care".)
I know what I'm saying sounds kinda fruitless but I just want to give Jimmy Neutron the respect he deserved.
Okay. Flame shield up. (Just in case)
Remember the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour trilogy? The crossovers between "The Fairly OddParents" and "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"? Well, I used to like this trilogy as a kid...but as I got older, I changed my opinion on it.
Here are my reasons why:
-
The FOP universe gets more attention than the JN universe (This becomes more evident in the second and third Power Hours).
-
The humor is all over the place and somewhat over-the-top at certain points.
-
Cindy doesn't deserve Jimmy or Timmy. Heck, in JN's Valentine's Day special, she literally sang a song about how she wants a boyfriend she can boss around.
Remember the opening of the FOP episode "Power Pals" where Cosmo and Wanda called out Timmy for taking advantage of his friends? Well, I can definitely see Cindy taking advantage of Jimmy and Timmy, and treating them like her personal servants (Doing her homework, carrying her stuff, cleaning her house, etc).
- The humor of FOP doesn't really fit with the JN universe. I know the JN show has its fair share of wacky moments and moments that don't make a lot of sense (despite the fact that it's a sci-fi adventure show) but there's such a thing as being too wacky.
And finally...
- The only thing FOP and JN have in common is that Timmy and Jimmy's names sound the same. Aside from that, it's clear that FOP and JN are two totally different shows. One being fantasy and the other being science fiction.
Personally, I think Jimmy Neutron should've crossed over with Danny Phantom. I know DP is a supernatural show but it has inventions that look like they could fit in the JN universe and characters with five fingers instead of four. Plus, Jimmy and Danny would probably bond over their shared interests relating to space and/or astronauts.
Now, there are people who absolutely love the JTPH trilogy despite its flaws. And there's nothing wrong with that.
But we shouldn't put any show, movie, or any other form of entertainment from our childhoods on such a high pedestal to the point where we refuse to acknowledge their flaws and get very upset at anyone who (responsibly) disagrees with us.
So the next time to decide to rewatch something from your childhood, remember to take off your rose colored glasses and acknowledge the red flags you've previously ignored.
I watched the latest episode of "The Amazing Digital Circus" yesterday. It was very engaging and had some pretty good moments.
And there's a scene where Pomni and Jax get into a huge fughf. The scene had no music at all. But that got me thinking: What if it did have music?
So, I played the "Mater Warns McQueen" score from the "Cars 2" soundtrack alongsidd a specific part of Pomni and Jax's fight (It starts with Pomni throwing her weapon at Jax for being a jerk and ends with Jax walking away from Pomni after his angry rant). And the timing was shockingly perfect. I'm not joking. The music from that score really helped set the mood.
( ^^; I know it isn't that important but I wanted to bring it up in case I forgot it later. Plus, it's kinda amazing how certain pieces of music can match the mood of a scene. )
Anyway, if haven't watched Episode 6, I recommend that you check it out. I have a feeling "The Amazing Digital Circus" is going to become more and more interesting in the future. :)
