Fun fact: When I drew this in 2007, I was not aware that "foxgirl" was the vulpine equivalent of "catgirl" and not just any youngish female anthro fox. Then again, I also didn't know that "catgirl" exclusively meant the more specific thing. Maybe it didn't at the time?

Fun fact 2: I don't really know what trains look like.

Anyway, this was one of the first things I posted to my website gallery and the llama site, and later, Mastodon. It started as fan art but the pose was OOC so I made up a character instead, then kept adding background details, and here's the result. Has some anatomy/proportion issues and the line quality isn't very good, but after all these years I still have a soft spot for it.

Also hi I'm new here and I don't know what the etiquette is around image descriptions/screen readers, but I don't see a space for alt text. Hope it's OK if I just leave it here:

A pencil drawing of an anthropomorphic fox woman sitting alone in a nondescript train car. Her half-lidded expression is a mix of tiredness and boredom. Her head is resting on her right hand, her elbow supported by her suitcase. Her left arm is draped over her left leg, which is pulled onto the seat cushion and propped against a rolled-up sleeping bag. In the seat next to her is a rolled-up newspaper. Through the window behind her, a futuristic cityscape is visible, with mountains in the distance.
