Shaded pencil drawing of the view from beside a small lake. The foreground is a grassy shore. The lake itself is shaded darker than the grass and marked with ripples and bright highlights.
The opposite shore is covered in various kinds of shrubs, but there's a small bench in a relatively clear spot. The road that passes behind the bench isn't visible, but its guard rail spans the width of the drawing and separates the bench and one nearby tree from the background trees.
The nearest of the trees on the far side of the road are messily detailed, but the rest fade to more abstract gray shapes as they recede into the distance.
Anyway, this was fun. One of the relatively rare occasions, outside of those two [Redacted]Tobers, when I drew something complete in one day. It was at a family reunion/picnic, and the scene is heavily inspired by the view from the picnic area of the little artificial lake and surrounding area. It's messier than I'd like (as you likely gathered from the description, which comes off maybe a little more self-deprecating than I'd like) but overall I'm happy with it.
