A shaded pencil drawing of a series of waterfalls. The waterfall on the right has a stereotypical, unnatural look, like a flat ribbon of water. There is a rainbow in front of it (rendered in the same grayscale as the rest of the drawing) despite the sun being visible in the sky behind it.
The remaining waterfalls are more naturalistic, dissolving into mist as they fall, splashing off some large rocks in front of them. Above the falls are some loosely rendered trees. The body of water that the falls empty into extends to the horizon on the right third of the drawing. A handful of clouds float lazily in the sky.
I came across a tutorial for drawing/painting realistic waterfalls a few years back, and thanks to my weird sense of humor, I just had to draw a waterfall that broke every single rule. I like to imagine a wizard has a secret lair behind there and he didn't bother paying attention to the real ones when casting illusion magic to disguise the entrance.
I feel like the sun in the upper right isn't as apparent as I wanted it to be, so rainbow joke is lost even if you do know that rainbows should only be visible when the sun is behind you. On a more positive note, I remember being really proud of how shiny and wet the rocks look, and I think that part still holds up fairly well. This is still a favorite of mine.
And huge thanks to @DaxDoodles for the spotlight, and all you kind folks for the likes!
