when 1 world ends, the next one comes alive
Honestly, I hate debates about whether physical or digital media is better. I know in this day and age, it's important to talk about the difference between (and the value in) owning and renting things, and I understand the many benefits of physical media, but more often than not, these debates just end with people bragging about physical media being superior and digital media being inferior. I especially hate the way some people who prefer physical media show outright contempt or disdain towards people who use/buy digital media, and act like they're better than everyone just because they buy physical media. I also hate the way people demonize digital media itself, acting like it's some evil curse that's eventually going to completely replace physical media. I seriously doubt it, considering the important roles that physical media still play in our world, even in the Digital Age, and considering the amount of people who still love and appreciate physical media, I have a hard time believing that it could ever be phased out entirely. I personally like digital media a little more since it's cheaper and more accessible, plus it's how I consume most media, but I think the "better" media format ultimately depends on individual needs and preferences. Both formats have plenty of advantages. I use both physical and digital media to get the best of both worlds. I just wish people could understand that both formats exist for a reason, and trying to invalidate either one does more harm than good.
