I've gotten this comment a few times throughout my artistic journey, and it never ceases to be a comment that despite often being well meant can actually come off very rude or condescending.

Additionally, another reason that I don't like this comment, is that it often also undermines a lot of the hard work that can go into a project, as well as it can add additional pressure or ill-feelings regarding their art, artistic process, or output.

Sometimes projects can take a long time to finish for a number of reasons, but that's ultimately okay! Even artists that today are revered as the "greats" have pieces that took them a long time to complete!

Art should never be a race to the finish.
