i think a myriad of things have been keeping this topic on my mind lately but i think i've hit my limit of seeing people treat posting art on social media as this validation machine that should work exactly as people should expect it to. like im not joking ive seen so many people talk about how they should be "owed" reblogs/shares/etc on other socmed sites and that everyone is conspiring against them to favor some other group of artists or whatever. or that people are being WEIRD and COMMENTING on their posts and trying to (jesus, how horrifying) strike up a conversation??? or spam liking posts??? or interacting at all????
it's genuinely baffling to me that people have gotten all twisted up about how people are "supposed" to interact on the internet without ever considering that sometimes........ people want to interact on the internet like a human being and not some dark forest hypothesis alien civilization that is trying to Hint at wanting to interact but is Respectful And Shit. or that everyone should immediately be an adoring fan forever and also never say anything ever
