Nothing major; I just wanted to try a little experiment, and I thought I'd dredge up Sam, my old OC from 2007 that I haven't drawn in ages. If this looks familiar…don't worry about it.
Flat-shaded line drawing of an anthropomorphic red fox, framed from the chest up. She grins somewhat dopily at the viewer and gives a thumbs-up. Beneath her, in bold, yellow-orange letters, is the word "Furry" in all caps.Sam's fur is a rusty orange fading to cream on her muzzle and neck. A large tuft of fur on her forehead resembles poofy bangs, gathering into several black-tipped spikes. Her cheek fur also comes to points with similar black tips. She wears a red T-shirt and a red fingerless glove.
The background is a gradient from magenta to purple; at the top is a large pattern of yellow halftone-style dots. The lettering has a faux-3D appearance; the faces of the letters have a halftone pattern fading from orange at the top to gold, while the sides fade from orange to the same dark brown used for the linework.
I had to pretty much give up on shading the face; realistically the whole side of her muzzle should be in shadow but I tried that and it looked awful, so here's a more or less reasonable stylistic compromise.
