I seen a couple profile that are like "DMs open" or "If you need something, DM me!" and.. I should probably get the record straight.

DMs do not exist on Sheezy, and they most likely never will.

This is because of an intentional decision by the team to not include them, period. The reasons are:

• It's a moderation nightmare. DMs have an expectation to be private, that is it's between you and the other person. If Ry wanted to add them (which he doesn't), he'd have to decide between them being mostly exempt from moderation (reports could make it so mods can see the offending DM, but it relies on people... actually reporting the message. if someone wanted, they could pressure the other person to never touch that report button) or allow the mods to eavesdrop on your private convos, defeating the point of private messages.
• There's other services out there built for messaging. If you have Discord (and if you don't, good for you. try to keep it that way), you can either put your username on your profile, your personal server, or use DiscordID (https://github.com/taichikuji/discordid/wiki) to make a link directly to your discord profile. Alternatively, you can use Private Contact Links in the Social Links section on your profile info settings if you prefer just friends (not mutuals, friends. you'd need to accept someone's friend request for them to send a contact request to access the private contact links) having direct access to your Discord account from your DMS. By the way, this isn't limited to Discord. If you have Telegram, Signal, whatever, that could work. Make sure you know what you're doing.

Of course, if you really want or need to "DM" someone on Sheezy, you could make a journal, set the visibility to "Specific Members", and plug the Sheezy usernames of the people you want to DM. This clutters your journals and you'd need to get the attention of the person you're trying to message (pings aren't a thing at the current moment, maybe when the rebuild comes?), but it's a workaround for sure.
