so hey, artfight in julyland is coming up and it basically set off a sleeper agent in everyone which is why everyone's posting about artfight (so called "free thinkers" when its almost july /lh) but tbh i'm not sure if i'm gonna do 2025

• i've been invested in other shit that isn't art related, esp stuff relating to the source engine and tf2. i'm also probably spend a bit of july building my first rig because the last part that's not coming until sometime next month is like super duper important and i cannot start building until it comes, even if all the other parts that i ordered are coming way sooner than that (hell, most of the parts i ordered are already here). i also got a new monitor which i immediately started using so i gotta get used to the new-ish desk setup (it's a nice monitor btw)
• i haven't really been feeling it lately when it comes to actually doing art, or even doing oc lore stuff. i make some doodles here and there and i'm trying to get back to doing art on pc since i gotta get used to basically using my tablet on the aforementioned new monitor, but for oc lore, even if i do have some ideas floating around the moment i open obsidian and go to the scratchpad canvas, my neurons stop firing off any signals and i can't write anything. even worse when some of the ocs i have basically got way less time to cook compared to others (side-eyeing cookie rn). even if i managed to get back into doing art just in time to chip away at the LONG ASS LIST OF BOOKMARKS I HAVE WTF, i basically got nothing good to show and imho it's just not gonna be fun for anyone trying to draw my ocs if they have no up-to-date information and the toyhouse page is all locked up never to be seen again because of auth-only.
• around the time the security thing was happening i was going around both on sheezy discord and the site itself and saying "TWENTY ON ARTFIGHT IS FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and saying i'm not gonna participate, but now that some time has passed, i'm from 25/75 on joining to about 35/65 or 50/50. idk if i'm gonna be right in me not participating or if fomo will beat my ass eventually and i commit a little hypocrisy and have to make a 3 hour long apology video.
  • oh yeah the toyhouse live code editor creator (circlejourney) is a dev for artfight now which gave me a little more hope in the site getting better technical-wise
